Llys-y-Wennol

An exceptional stay in a beautiful Llys-y-Wennol, North Wales! We spent this past weekend at Llys-y-Wennol in Betws-y-Coed and genuinely cannot compliment the property or the hosts enough. Mr and Mrs Roberts were exceptional from beginning to end. Their warmth, welcoming, thoughtful and attentive detail without ever being intrusive. Their hospitality made the stay feel personal, relaxed and memorable. The property itself was exactly what we needed for our first North Wales escape. It was comfortable, peaceful, well equipped, and beautifully positioned for exploring Snowdonia. After a full day outdoors, it was the perfect place to return to being homely, quiet, and full of character. The location is one of its greatest strengths. Llys-y-Wennol is a wonderful base, with a local shop nearby watching the cows' graze. There are cafés, shops, walks, waterfalls, and forest scenery close by without the hustle and bustle of Betwys-y-coed. It also gives easy access to many of North Wales’s best attractions, including Swallow Falls, Conwy and the wider Eryri landscape. We hiked the Watkin Path on Yr Wyddfa/Mount Snowdon during our stay, and the property made an ideal base for that kind of weekend being close enough to the mountains, yet peaceful enough to properly unwind afterwards. Everything about the stay felt considered. The setting, the comfort, the welcome, and the access to surrounding attractions made it exceptional. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already wanting to return. A sincere thank you to Mr and Mrs Roberts for hosting us so wonderfully. Highly recommended, if you are planning your trip, definitely visit this exceptional property hosted by exceptional people.

We had a wonderful stay and have in fact booked again for September. The property is set in the most beautiful surroundings. The hosts were absolutely wonderful and nothing was too much trouble.

Lovely cottage, well-equipped with everything necessary for a week's stay, peaceful location overlooking Penmachno, a homely place to return to after a day in the outdoors. Very welcoming hosts.

Very minor thing which didn't affect me because I'm only in the shower for a couple of minutes, but the shower doesn't drain properly.

The house was much larger than we expected. Everything was clean and ready to use. Even some tea and coffee. Great wifi.

We could use some soap in the bathroom, but that is really a minor inconvenience.
