Overall, the Aperol apartment gave the impression that everything has been done to maximise profit with very little care

I recently stayed in the Aperol apartment in Iseo and while there were a few positives, unfortunately my overall experience was disappointing. I don’t know if the Campari apartment is any better, but based on my stay I would not return. On the positive side, the apartment is very conveniently located — just a short walk from the train station, the lake, and the town square. It’s easy to find, and communication with the owner was smooth throughout. The kitchen is also well equipped, which is a plus.

However, several aspects of the stay left much to be desired. The check-in process felt unnecessarily long and inconvenient, as I was required to complete much of it myself. While I understand the need to provide passport details, I was uncomfortable having to also submit a photo of myself, my full address, and sign a lengthy contract full of disclaimers — it gave the whole process an uneasy feeling. The Wi-Fi was essentially non-existent, constantly dropping out and forcing my phone to switch to 4G. When it did work, it was extremely slow. The apartment itself had a persistent unpleasant smell, likely due to humidity, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. Even towels wouldn’t dry after a full day. On top of that, the weather during my stay was bad and the apartment was cold. Although radiators were present, they were switched off. While I didn’t contact the owner about this, I would have expected heating to be available automatically — the last thing I wanted after returning in the evening was to find the apartment unpleasantly chilly. The bathroom in particular was problematic. There was no ventilator, so it steamed up completely after every shower, and opening the windows did not help. The shower was also dripping slightly, and the soap provided in both the bathroom and shower was the cheapest quality possible. In terms of upkeep, the apartment fell short. The fireplace area was dirty, the walls in several places had not been painted properly and were marked, and the bathroom and upstairs bedroom showed clear signs of poor workmanship and cheap finishes. Doors were creaky, wooden surfaces untreated, and basic amenities such as bins in the bathroom and bedroom were missing. In the kitchen, there was not even a kitchen towel provided.
