Carolina Hostel

Sometimes I get very confused by Booking.com ratings. Before finding Carolinas, I stayed for a couple of days at a place close to the city center that had a 9.0 rating, but personally, I wouldn’t have rated it more than a 7. Carolinas is rated 7.5, but I would give it a solid 9. It’s close to the bus stop to the city center, or about a 25-minute walk if you prefer. It’s located in a super safe and one of the more upscale areas of San José, around Barrio Escalante and Barrio Dent, and it’s only about a 5-minute walk from plenty of great restaurants and bars. Luca, the manager, is very welcoming and helpful, and the cleaning ladies are wonderful as well. Everyone made me feel very welcome and taken care of. Thank you, everyone! I’ll definitely return whenever I need to run errands in the city.
