VILLA - Absolutely gorgeous property! 8 of us stayed for a week. The social spaces are delightful, it’s very stylish indeed, with plenty of space to all be together, inside or outside. The kids loved the snug TV area too! Fully equipped kitchen, with everything you need. Laundry room with washing machine & cleaning bits. Bathrooms are exceptional. The clean, white cotton linen on the beds was very nice with plenty of pillows. Air con throughout was a welcome addition. Mountain views are beautiful from both the pool & the terrace. The swimming pool is wonderful (open 10am-6pm), it’s well looked after and a lovely temperature, the sun loungers were also really comfy. Ample parking was available at the property itself. LOCATION - The Location was also perfect, just a short drive or walk to the local bakery, a shop, cafe & pharmacy and chateau. If walking bear in mind walking uphill on the return because of the beautiful mountain area it’s in. A very short drive to the lake Annecy itself, stunning place to visit! 25 min drive to Annecy town - a must see with its beautiful water streets and architecture. There are large supermarkets & mall style shops a 20-25 min drive too. HOSTS - really great, available if needed, messaging to make sure we were ok and welcoming us.

Not things that we didn’t like as such, just a couple things to maybe take into consideration. Bathrooms - Only one medium sized bath towel is provided per person & bath mats. No hand towels. We did take swimming towels with us anyway so it was ok. Bedroom - There are 4 bedrooms, but only one double room is on its own with access to the terrace. The other 3 bedrooms are all connected, one through to another up a steep staircase. There’s one very small double, then into a 2 single beds bedroom, through to a nice sized double. This was fine for us, but something some people may need to bear in mind.

The property was well equipped and spotlessly clean. Peaceful location. Nice outdoor space including the swimming pool.

We found the bedroom situation for adults slightly challenging. It should be made very clear on the description that three of the fours bedrooms were up in the eaves accessed by a very steep staircase. If we had known this clearly we would have booked an alternative property. The property is further away from menthon St Bernard and the lake, a 40 minute walk down a busy steep road with no path. Having a hire car is essential to staying at this property. If you have mobility problems do not book this property. The owner also lives attached to the property and we found he wasn’t very friendly and made a complaint about us using the bins for rubbish that weee not in a black bin bag. We had secured the rubbish but then had to leave it on the doorstep. Found this a bit unaccomodating. Also the pool hours were 10-6pm. This restricted us using it as after being out all day visiting places it would have been nice to come back and relax by the pool but unless before 6pm this wasn’t an option. Having a pool was one of our key requirements for our stay but in reality was limited in terms of access. This is because the owner wanted to use it after 6.
