Everything, location, home from home, cleanliness, decor, comfort, perfect for dogs. Couldn't of been better.

We liked everything

This is our second stay and it is great cottage with everything need. Great location to explore Louth.

Nothing that didn’t like about property.

Nice cottage once inside and had everything we needed. Bedrooms were a good size, and beds comfortable, with plentiful sockets. Kitchen is well equipped

The listing said it was a 'charming setting' and a 'peaceful retreat', as well as saying it was a 'haven of tranquility' and in a 'peaceful neighbourhood', giving a strong impression that it was a in an area a lot quieter and less busy than it is in reality. It failed to mention that it is on a busy, wide main road through the town, with a pelican crossing right outside, which frequently made a noise. The is also a school next door with lively young children. I think their description is somewhat misleading, putting so much emphasis on what it isn't - tranquil. Parking was not always easy in the small car park opposite. Garden was described as 'shared access'. It wasn't the access that was shared - the whole garden was openly shared with the adjoining cottage, so had no privacy. The dog was sweet, but barked a fair bit, and woke us up extremely early one morning. Possibly unsuitable for children playing outside who may be wary of it, or people with dogs that may not get along with it. No chance of a relaxing read in the garden. Rugs on the carpets in the bedrooms + dining area were always rucking up and easy to trip on. We were asked to throw the rubbish out when we left, which we did, and we made sure we left the place spotless. But we got a msg saying the cleaner smelt cigarette smoke in the house, and 'respectfully' could we not smoke if we stay there again. This was very insulting and bemusing as I have never smoked in my life and my husband gave up 40 years ago. Having lost a number of close family because of it, we are very anti-smoking. I couldn't see the point of sending that message unless we did try to book again which, 'respectfully', we won't be doing. We were judged to be guilty on her cleaner's opinion, without having the courtesy to call us to discuss it.
