Summary:
The Downeast Deckhouse is a beautiful Mid-Century home located in the beautiful village of Somesville. This central location allows guests to travel the island easily, all while experiencing the best of Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park. The home is well-appointed and features new furnishings, a fully stocked kitchen and updated decor. The outdoor space is just as inviting as the inside, with seasonal views of Sargent Mountain from the deck and firepit area!
The Space:
The home features a large and open living, dining and kitchen area. The living area offers several couches with ample sitting room, a 75" television and direct access to the deck from the sliding glass doors.
The kitchen is fully stocked and has all of the tools you need to prepare meals. Coffee is also provided!
On the main level, guests will find a full bath with tub and shower, one king bedroom and one queen bedroom.
On the lower level, guests will find a second living area, which is perfect for relaxing or playing games! The lower level also offers a full bathroom, a queen bedroom, a bedroom with two twins and a pull out couch.

Somesville is a charming village on Mount Desert Island where New England's beauty meets tranquility. Your vacation rental here offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by stunning nature. We are a dog friendly home and will happily host up to 2 of your furry friends. However, please be respectful and pick up after your pet. No cats are allowed.
During the summer months, we have trash pick-up on Tuesday and Friday. Please place the trash in the bins at the end of the driveway for pickup.

The property was spacious and comfortable. The lower level layout provides privacy from those on the upper level. We appreciated the fully equipped kitchen. The road noise was unexpected when outside or with windows open. Very quiet inside when doors and windows were shut. The location was great. Easy access to all of MDI and Acadia.

Short drive to Acadia or Bar Harbor. Tucked back from road, with fire pit. We saw deer and had a wonderful stay.
