The pool and pool deck is nicer than photos suggest. Owner is friendly, helpful, and speaks English. Decks. Breakfast voucher.

You have to walk through one of the bedrooms in the two-bedroom suite to reach the bathroom.

We appreciated the kindness and openness of the hosts. The breakfast was excellent and the waiter was very nice. We liked how close we were to the ocean and university. The bus stations, shops and a pleasant market were all nearby.

The lights in the bathroom were motion-based, so they kept turning off while someone was in there, which was unpleasant. The shower had only one fixed head, I would have found useful a mobile one. The furniture was old and it smelled a little bit.

Staff ability for letting me in couple hours earlier. My flight arrived earlier than i had communicated.

This accommodation is near the beach, although a few blocks uphill from the beach. But the position is good with everything close by. It’s easy to catch a bus to Porto and is a nice ride along the river. The host, Jorge is extremely helpful with info on things to see, restaurants and bus service. Nice touches like kettle, tea and coffee, bottles of drinking water and shower cap, sewing kit and a little old fridge that “whooshed” in the night. There is also a shared kitchen and washing machine. Breakfast is simple but in a lovely patisserie around the corner. Wouldn’t take much (new curtains and lots of plump pillows) to make this meanly decorated room into a more plush inviting room. The building is solid but the curtains were cheap, the pillows were small and lumpy and the mattress hard foam. Long open weave curtains would not only enhance the room but also provide privacy from the street outside and allow in light without closing off the street view.
