Lovely properties, very quiet, quirky and scandi in design, well designed and presented generally - but in an odd location amongst other houses, easy to find and access from the main road and an easy 10-min walk down into town, a bit tiring walking up out of the town though - uphill all the way. Sadly the businesses over the road were closed while we were there otherwise they would have made for a easier stop. Overall a nice property.
We slept upstairs and there is heaps of space overall up there, a convenient ensuite but no shower or bath only a toilet and sink?? Very comfortable beds, pillows were too soft for us. Overall a nice ambience, calm and well decorated throughout, well insulated and very warm generally.
Would stay again.
We were in No.3 The Green House for only 2 nights. There wasn't anything we really didn't like - but these are just the usual observations when staying in rented accommodation. As there are 4 properties on Hectors Row each key box could be better numbered or colour-coded for ease of identifying which box belongs to which house - especially in the dark weather (if they ever were colour-coded or numbered, they aren't now).
The lounge sofa is uncomfortable / hard - given the property can accommodate 4 people there needs to be more comfortable seating. Although tea and coffee etc were provided it would be useful to have a e.g. hotel style long-life milk cartons available, and indicate when booking what is available as a welcome pack, this would be helpful for people arriving late - the shops are far enough away and you cant always make it to the shops on your arrival. Generally lots of lighting throughout, but quite dim downstairs.
A shame there wasn't a bath or a small shower in the upstairs ensuite, seemed odd as the room was big enough to install something useable?? That meant 4 people have to use (what is) the very good ensuite downstairs. Very quirky and narrow stairs to the upstairs bedroom space not easy for really young kids or elderly people. A bit of an odd layout upstairs, and a bit of a waste of space in part of the upstairs area, sloping ceilings so if you're tall you're probably going to bump your head.

The house is extremely comfortable with all the facilities and equipment you need. The shower is particularly good with really hot water and powerful. The heating works well. The location is quiet and very convenient for popping into Tobermory although you do have to take the car. There is a secure shared garden which we didn't use but with kids it would be great. Very clean.
I know Tobermory so I wasn't caught out about needing to take the car to get into town but it's worth knowing that although it's not far there is a very steep hill down from the top road where the house is. It's also worth knowing in terms of the house that the second double is up some steep stairs which might not suit everyone. I did feel that it was rather overpriced for what we got and considering that the housing estate that the house is on isn't very pretty.
