The cottage is very comfortable and in a beautiful spot overlooking the water. It was fun to see the Highland cows and sheep that would pass by, and listen to all the birds.

Beautiful location, tastefully decorated.
WiFi was unstable, but from talking with the property team it was unusual and seemed to be an issue in the area, so hopefully this is not normal for other visitors.

Cozy
Small marks on quilt cover, almost like rust
Mention of ensuring dishwasher empty on leaving property, but no dishwasher

The location was exceptional albeit remote. The road at the front was quiet and the views uninterrupted. Small cottage but had everything for 3 people.
The bed was a double and just slightly on the small side as a result.

The property was very well presented, easily meeting the standard shown in the official photos. It would be hard to find a better location, remote enough to feel special but with facilities available for supplies (with a little planning). The views of the landscape and wildlife were really excellent.
It's hard to think of anything.

The location - remote, with a beautiful view over to Ulva. The beds were comfy, and the general condition of the property was excellent. Easy to find, parking available and a beautiful garden.

Fantastic views of the Loch. Cottage had good facilities. Delightful place to stay, would definitely recommend.
One track roads around Mull a bit difficult in places, particularly on 'scenic routes' but also great for seeing wildlife and amazing views.

This is my fourth visit to Mull so that says it all.
Given the isolation of the property I would have liked quite a lot more equipment in the kitchen as I am a keen cook. The following items are, in my opinion needed; a large whisk,a rolling pin,a casserole dish, a pie dish, wooden spoons of at least 2 more sizes, a deep and a shallow flan case. Maybe a loaf tin.
The kitchen lighting was absent as there was no tube in the fitting

Beautiful little cottage right out on it's own with lovely secluded garden and wonderful views over the sea to the front and woodland to the rear - we had visitors everyday - highland cattle with their calves, rabbits, sheep - it was so relaxing and quiet - perfect holiday location.
I think it would have been nice to have a small essentials welcome pack but we were completely aware of this when we arrived so had everything we needed - also there is no hanging space so if you are staying for a longer period, this could be a problem - we were ok for three nights.

Fabulous holiday house, cute and very comfortable. Very clean and has everything you need for self catering. Great location for exploring Mull. Not far from Ulva ferry for boat trips. Decorated beautifully with a nod to its Scottish location in the fabrics and pictures. Amazing views, quiet and peaceful. Loved everything about it.
Nothing not to love

A lovely cottage with stunning views. Very clean and comfortable, a true home from home.
Nothing! A suggestion and not a criticism would be, given the remoteness of the cottage, it would be nice for a pint of milk (or UHT milk) to be available on arrival.

Fabulous location - we'd forgotten how beautiful west coast sunsets were. Peaceful and a great starting point for exploring the island either by car or on foot. And since we were spending Christmas at Normann's Ruh, to have a Christmas tree and decorations already in the cottage was such a lovely touch.
Lack of a teapot ... how's that for a first world problem.

Stunning location with views of the isle of Ulva, we were lucky to have some beautiful sunsets. A short 20 minute drive to the beautiful Calgary bay was ideal and we discovered the nearby Black Beach, sadly tide was in at the time but a lovely treasure. The cottage is very sweet, has everything we needed, warm, clean and comfortable. A lovely place to stay.
We don't have any negative comments

We could not imagine having a better location for our stay in Mull. The view from the front was stunning especially during the wonderful sunsets and the closeness to Ulva (includingStaffa boat) and Calgary much appreciated) We had the privilege of meeting the cheerful and enthusiastic young couple who care for the property and they had prepared it for our stay excellently.
Perfection? perfection would have been a path to the water's edge cut from opposite the cottage -long term?
A brilliant holiday in which Normanns Ruh played a major role.
Many thanks,
Jane & David .
However, it would have been good to have had a teapot and milk jug (we're English!!), a microwave bowl, a mixing bowl and a washing up bowl (saving water) : in addition extra drying-up cloths and j-cloths would have helped us keep things spic..

It's hard to find things not to like about Normann's Ruh. Lovely traditional cottage, just off the road with outstanding views of Ulva and Gometra. The sunrise and sunset both lit up the island and it was quite a show to wake up to. The location was in amongst some great walking especially "The Black beach" which was deserted on both occasions we visited. Wild life is just everywhere, including sheep in the garden. We travelled back to the cottage most days at dusk and saw deer everywhere. Visiting Iona is a must and we also booked a Nature Scotland wildlife tour, that in retrospect we wished we had gone on as soon as we reached Mull, because we learnt so much about how to spot wildlife on the island and we were lucky to see a White tailed eagle thanks to Ewan's amazing eyesight. I had been on Mull a few times before but I had forgotten all about how long it takes to get anywhere. That was fine because we are on holiday but check your times if you are going for any ferries. The roads are 90% single track, winding , hair pin bends and blind summits etc. It was nearly 2 hours to get from our cottage to the Iona ferry. Dervaig is a lovely place to stop and we had a meal at the Bellachroy Hotel which was lovely. There is so much to see and do on Mull. The island has a right to roam so unless you are in someone's garden, you can go wherever you want. I would highly recommend Mull as a holiday destination and Normann's Ruh as the place to stay.
The cottage is fairly remote. The nearest shop was either 5 miles away in Dervaig or 7 miles in Salen. I think it would have been really nice to have a welcome pack of bread, milk ,eggs etc, given that you may have arrived in a rush with no supplies. I couldn't find a cheese grater and I had expected to find the drawer full of Cling film and Foil but there was none. The same applied with the bathroom. 2 toilet rolls for 3 people over 6 days is not enough and it would have been lovely to have some guest shampoo. My friend would have liked to see Pillow protectors on the pillows, other wise the bedding and towels were lovely. The only other thing I would say is that the promotional photos show a bottle of wine and 2 glasses which suggested, that was what we could expect. on arrival but there was none. These are very tiny suggestions and in no way impacted on the enjoyment of our holiday.
