Villa Fontaine Grand Osaka Umeda

The location was handy and the room was OK - no view, but I enjoyed the spa hot stones and loved the bubble showerheads.

I loved this beautiful hotel. The room was large (especially if compared to Tokyo tiny rooms) and spacious. The bed was one of the most comfortable ones I have ever been on! I would point out that finding this place was slightly a challenge as it was raining and we were exhausted after a long flight, but obviously, once you know where it is, you begin to appreciate the location as there is a tonn of food options, a mall, and a convenience store right near it. I personally enjoyed the breakfast buffet, but my partner pointed out that protein/ meat choices were not sufficient for him. They had an amazing freshly grilled fish station which I enjoyed, but for you meat lovers, there is no bacon/sausage/beef options, just fish, which is a traditional Japanese breakfast. They had a great variety of desserts though. I would stay here again.

Loved this hotel for its proximity to shopping plazas and the major transit lines. The room was spacious and had many amenities within it, and the spa/public bath were great too! All of the staff that I encountered were well accustomed to speaking English, which was nice for not having to navigate Google Translate. Breakfast was included for us, and comprised of traditional Japanese fare. Due to this, I was able to try many new foods that I may have not have gotten to experience otherwise during my stay in Japan. My only two "quirks" were that the toilet has a privacy sound-emitting option that comes on automatically when you sit on the toilet, that cannot be shut off easily. This makes overnight trips to the toilet a bit of a nuisance; and that the process of "checking in" and out of the spa can be confusing as well. Luckily, there are staff members at the entrance to the spa that guide you through this process. My advice for any travellers that use the spa are to make sure that you carry both the shoe locker and spa locker lanyards with you while you're walking around the spa corridors. The shoe locker lanyard is used for accessing your shoes at the entrance to the spa, entering the spa changing area, accessing the cooling room and heated stone spas, and for the checking in and out of the spa, whereas the spa lanyard is used only for locking up your clothes within the changing area. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Osaka. :)
