Overall Impression The property itself is physically impressive, boasting well-designed rooms, good amenities (gym, indoor pool), and a pleasant breakfast setting with great variety. Unfortunately, the overall stay was deeply frustrating due to repeated service failures, indifferent staff attitudes, and a lack of follow-through that falls far short of the standards expected from a Hilton-branded hotel. While isolated mistakes are understandable, the accumulation of issues and the manner in which staff handled them placed the burden of their errors onto the guest. Key Service & Staff Incidents Check-In & Room Assignment Errors: Upon arrival, the wrong room number was programmed onto my key card. When it failed to work, the front desk agent refused to fix it without my passport—despite the error originating entirely from their end minutes prior. Only after insistence was it discovered his colleague had entered the wrong room. Furthermore, the agent repeatedly insisted he was "upgrading" my room to a higher floor, when my booking was already for a high-floor room that cost roughly 20% more. Unwelcoming Arrival & Handling: Security staff at the entrance were notably unfriendly. In one instance, a bellman placed luggage in a way that caused my wife’s bag to fall to the floor. Given that my wife was unwell and unable to bend down, the bellman neither apologized nor attempted to pick the bag up, reflecting a disappointing lack of basic courtesy. Dismissive Customer Service: When discussing a quiet room preference (which was included in my booking), customer service dismissed it by claiming booking notes do not reach the hotel—an unacceptable explanation for a major brand. Additionally, the front desk manager promised to send an amenity to the room as an apology for the check-in fiasco, but nothing was ever delivered. Property & Operational Shortcomings Cleanliness: Public restrooms were poorly maintained with unpleasant odors, and the room carpet did not meet expected cleanliness standards. Amenities: The bathroom lacked standard basic amenities, including a toothbrush, shaving kit, and comb. Staff Professionalism: Service and cleaning staff frequently utilized guest elevators while transporting bulky cleaning equipment, showing little regard for guest comfort. Parking: Hotel parking is paid and relatively expensive at approximately *** per day. Conclusion A beautiful physical structure cannot compensate for a service culture that lacks accountability, empathy, and professionalism. The repeated inconveniences and hollow apologies made dealing with hotel staff a continuous source of stress rather than a relaxing experience. I expected a significantly higher level of guest care and operational competence from Hilton.
