Tangga Bungalows Gili Air-Adults Only

This is a wonderful, quiet place with idyllic wooden and bamboo cottages surrounded by a gorgeous garden. It feels like an oasis full of beautiful bird sounds, and the swimming pool is very clean. The houses are spaced far enough apart so you have plenty of privacy and no noise from neighbors. Every cottage also has its own hammock on the porch, which is perfect for relaxing. The absolute highlight is how incredibly clean the cottages are. Setti and Ika are the sweetest, most caring people who are always ready to help you with anything. They even do your laundry for a very small fee. I honestly don’t understand any negative comments about them online; they are so loving and any complaints probably say more about those guests themselves. Every single morning, even extra early before my diving trips, Ika would softly sing while making delicious banana pancakes with honey and fresh fruit. It is true that you will hear the mosque prayer very early in the morning (around 5:00 AM or earlier). It takes a few days to get used to, but it is part of the island's culture and religion and should be respected. You will hear this no matter where you stay on Gili Air! I originally stayed for one week, but after visiting Nusa Penida for a few days, I loved it so much that I came right back for a second week. It is truly fantastic and I will definitely return here next time!

We liked it here so much that we ended up extending our stay. Our bungalow was really comfortable, and we especially loved having our own little private space with the hammock and matress outside on the balcony. The staff were genuinely kind, helpful and very easy-going, which made the whole place feel relaxed and welcoming. We also appreciated that the prices for things like bike and scooter rental, laundry, water, beer and the snorkeling trip were very fair. Breakfast was good, and we really enjoyed chatting with the people there. They were always happy to talk, share a bit about the island and answer our questions. Overall, it was just a very enjoyable place to stay, just a nice bungalow, good people and a relaxed atmosphere. We would definitely stay here again.
