We were looking for a smaller hotel with a traditional Schwarzwald flair in a beautiful location, and this fit the bill perfectly! This is an old house, but entirely up to modern standards inside, with a friendly staff and warm feel. The room was cozy, looking out on the quiet main plaza with its church. We had dinner twice in the excellent restaurant. Breakfast was great - don't forget to make yourself fresh juice or even get eggs to order. There was even a small swimming pool, sauna, a desk with lounge chairs, a great view, and a bar. The Schluchsee was a bit low in water when we were there, but I imagine it is prettier when full, so we hiked around nearby Titisee instead. Highly recommended.

Overall, it was a nice stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, I much appreciated the card to use for the bus/train/and boat ride in Titisee. Breakfast was very good, a nice variety. The restaurant was nice as well, some seating overlooking the lake is beautiful. Location is wonderful, in the city center and the train station was a short 5 minute walk away. Just across the street is a market to get some food along with some other shops. The hotel could have offered a fridge in the room and pet dishes for the pet room I was in. I wish the window would have been standard to see the view from anywhere in the room, instead it was like a skylight so had to walk up to it to be able to see the lake.

The hotel is situated very good, very close to the lake and close to the s bahn, which can take you further anywhere. the hotel provides Hochschwarzwald card from 2 nights, what is very nice for discounts for some activities, as well as transport card (you can travel for free in schwarzwald with it). the breakfast is very good, staff is friendly and room is small but clean. i would only recommend!
