When we arrived the staff was not very friendly and helpful. Parking was difficult due to codes and the parking being away from the hotel. We had to ask for help from the hotel staff which we got, to get into the parking and out again. One couldn't open a window in our bedroom at all and there was an aircon which blew right onto the bed. So we were either hot and stuffy or in a cold draft. it was clean and quiet.

At check in we were informed that if we had "green cleaning" of the room we would receive free drinks in the bar. We ordered "green cleaning" but discovered that the only thing that was done was that the bed was made. We needed toiletpaper for example but that was not provided - and no free drinks. That´s perfectly fine but why boast about it at check-in. The room (and the hotel) was a bit worn done and our bathroom was damaged by moisture around all the walls, the sink was leaking and the floor under it was puddled. The floor in the shower had big cracks and the top surface of the floor was missing on several parts. The telephone in the room was stone dead. No connection at all. The room thermostat was out of order which made the room to cold. We also had drinks in the hotel bar. Both an Aperol Spritz and a Mojito tasted just plain water. This is not a 4-star hotel. Far from it. Really disappointed. By the way. When we checked in we were informed that the minibar was free of charge. That seemed really nice and a generous gesture, but the fact was that the minibar contained of just one bottle - filled with water...... Just one more thing. Who is the clever man (or woman) that installed the sliding door to the bathroom whick make everything in the bathroom and everyone in it visible?

The room was a good size but an odd shape so the space wasn’t very practical. There are nice outdoor areas for breakfast and the bar/restaurant but no non-smoking area so we didn’t find them particularly usable.

Travelling home from a relaxing few days at the Why. It's a great base to explore Lille, quiet yet within easy walking distance of the city centre. The staff were all tremendously welcoming and helpful, patiently listening to my poor attempts at French before replying in excellent English. All in all a great place to stay.. ,

Lovely hotel in a convenient location so easy to get around. Staff are all welcoming and friendly, good service, and clean rooms. Good range of choices for breakfast and lots of restaurants near by. We ate in one evening and their burger was great.

The hotel location is great, very close to the main tourist area and not too far from the Eurostar station. Room was very clean and super helpful staff. When I was there, the aircon on the sixth floor was not working, as the room faces the sun, it can get quite hot and stuffy, so we have therefore asked to move to another room. The staff was able to arrange that on the following day but the other room was also quite stuffy and it did not feel like the aircon was on. I’m not sure if it was turned off because the weather was still a bit cold but we have decided to just have the window opened. So it was a bit noisy at night on the weekend but at an acceptable level. I would still recommend for its quality and location.

Excellent hotel, great position for Lille centre. The staff were exceptional, real credit to the great western hotel group. Rooms were clean and very comfortble. Breakfast was amazing. Good selection of food. My mobility scooter broke down and they managed to sort out the hire of a wheelchair for while I was there. Nothing was to much for them. Definitely recommend A*

We had a wonderful stay, the Junior Suite was perfect for our family, well appointed, clean, and with a balcony to soak in the atmosphere. The staff were fantastic: would recommend and will be coming back.

Hotel was close to the main square. Room & beds were clean and comfortable. Due to the unique windows in the hotel it was a landmark to be able to easily spot from a distance. 2 areas that challenge the hotels rating: 1) Parking is paid and you have to check in prior to being able to park. This is offset in that there is an ample pull out in front of the hotel to stop in while you check in. 2) Some of the finishing painting / carpentry appears to have been hurried. It does not impact the stay but it was noticeable.

The hotel is in a very good position for walking to sights and restaurants. The room was clean, a good size and well appointed. The only downside was that the air conditioning was switched off at this time of year (end of September) and on a sunny day the room was very warm. The windows would only partially open and at night had to be closed to keep street noise out.

Well situated for the centre of town. A few minutes walk to the Grand Place with all the bar and cafes. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking was convenient and secure, if a little tight. The hotel and room was comfortable. Quite a lively area
