When we reserved the room the description stated “separate room” and we noted that we required a crib as we have two children under two years old who still nap regularly. There was no crib available when we checked in, and no separate bedroom within the room. Needless to say, our infant likely got the best sleep out of all of us, as our toddler spent the entire night free ranging the hotel room until she finally got too exhausted to continue. They offered us free parking to compensate, but I’d have preferred an offer to babysit overnight with how little rest we got overall. I recommend calling to confirm the crib availability ahead of time if it’s pivotal to your trip as it was for us, otherwise be prepared for a sleepless night.

Great staff and great location. Great second-hand clothing store nearby, too. Many great buys. Also near a very good drug store (Shoppers Drug Mart) and on the hop-on/hop-off line.

The staff at check in and check out were very helpful and kind. The one issue we had was the poor water pressure in our bathroom. It was so low it couldn’t even fill up the tub for a bubble bath. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a great location, especially if you’re using public transit.

I had a very disappointing experience at Grand Park Hotel and Suites Downtown Vancouver (Ascend Hotel Collection). During our stay, there was a monthly natural incident for women that caused a minor stain on the sheet. Instead of treating this as normal laundry, the hotel charged me unfairly. When I contacted the front desk to dispute it, the manager was dismissive and told me to “do whatever I can do.” This type of response is unprofessional and shows no concern for guest satisfaction. No policy about such charges was shared at check-in, which makes the situation even worse. Guests deserve fairness, understanding, and professionalism. Unfortunately, this hotel did not provide that, and I cannot recommend staying here.

The hotel room was somewhat run down looking and not as clean as we would have expected for a downtown hotel. The staff were pleasant and the location is quite ideal with many amenities within walking distance and a city train station close by. Unfortunately, the hot tub was closed during our stay but we used the sauna once- we found it to be quite old and you could no longer read the numbers on the controls which seems like a hazard. Overall the location was super but we wouldn't necessarily choose this property again.
