    the room is spacious for a family of 4 (2 adult 2 children). my 2 kids enjoy the bathtub. the room is well equipped with all the necessary. the location is great. just opposite the morning market

    I recently stayed at FAV HOTEL HAKODATE, and unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it. The room layout is a serious safety hazard; both the beds and the bathroom are built on elevated platforms, making it incredibly easy to trip and fall if you get up in the dark. Breakfast was also a letdown. It starts late at 7:30 AM, you only get a choice between a scone or pizza bread that you must take back to your room, and non-coffee drinkers have to pay extra for hot tea since only drinks under ¥550 are included. Worst of all, the hotel doesn't offer hotel-to-hotel luggage forwarding. I had to drag my bags over Hakodate's rough, bumpy roads to a nearby Yamato Transport, only to be rejected by the staff there due to weather. I ended up having to drag my luggage all the way to the Yamato station inside JR Hakodate Station, where a wonderfully kind lady accepted it and got it to Lake Toya by the next morning. The hotel should really handle this service so guests don't have to deal with that hassle. The one saving grace was the young man working the morning shift. Despite the language barrier, he was incredibly warm, friendly, and constantly used a translation app to help me with all my queries. While he was fantastic, the unsafe room design and lack of basic services mean I won't be staying here again.
