Gafa Garden Hostel & Apartments

I had a small private room with a tiny en-suite bathroom and a balcony. The one downside was that smoking from the ground floor and first floor came up and I could smell it when I was sleeping or waking. As someone sensitive to smoke, I disliked this aspect. Otherwise, I would say the people running the hostel / guesthouse are helpful (several times the door to my floor was locked and I needed help which they readily provided) and the morning breakfast with fruit, vegetables, cheese, bread, brownies, and some sort of a pasta or potato dish was nice. (If you’re looking for eggs in the morning, this may not be the place for you though there was a little egg in a potato dish for one of the 3 breakfasts I had). The living room area has windows open to the outside and helps you feel like you are inside but outside too. It can get crowded during breakfast or in the evening but generally worked, especially given there are some chairs outside on the ground floor. The location in Taksim is great if you want to be around lots of restaurants and eateries and shopping opportunities. And there are buses to and from the two airports from the other side of Taksim square that leave regularly. I would consider staying again on my next visit to Istanbul.

I can recommend it without hesitation.

The location is absolutely great . For the price it’s okayish as it’s a hostel and rooms are bit outdated . But you get what you pay for . It was clean . The staff was nice . Breakfast is really good . And is very close to Taksim Tram and metro station . For budget travelers I would recommend

Location is close to Taskim main party street. I was able to go to take the ferry in 15 minutes walking but prepared for the hilly streets. Hostal was crowded and breakfast was awesome with a lot of cheese, tomatoes, cucumber and scramble eggs and tons of black tea. Hostal has 3 floors and there are 2 bathrooms in each floor for 12 people in each floor.
