    Our stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton in the Azores was truly splendid. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was exceptional. The entire team was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely went above and beyond to make our stay special. Having stayed in multiple five-star and even seven-star hotels around the world, I can confidently say that this level of warmth and care—especially in Europe—is rare. We were celebrating our anniversary, and the staff helped make it unforgettable. My husband arranged a surprise bottle of champagne and dessert for me, and the team executed it beautifully. It was such a thoughtful moment, and their enthusiasm and kindness made it even more meaningful. Throughout our stay, they were always accommodating and eager to help with anything we needed. When our whale watching tour was delayed and we had to change our flights from the morning to the evening, the hotel graciously extended our checkout time so we wouldn’t feel rushed. That flexibility and understanding made a huge difference. The breakfast each morning was superb—lavish, fresh, and with plenty of variety. It was one of the highlights of our stay and the perfect way to start the day. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel enough. If you are visiting the Azores, I genuinely wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else. The property is wonderful, but it’s the people who make it truly exceptional. A big shoutout to Tiago and Cristina for their outstanding hospitality and kindness—they truly made our stay even more memorable.
