    I’ve stayed at this hotel several times, mainly during the trade show period in February, when it can be extremely difficult to find a decent hotel in Berlin at a reasonable price. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the prices are fair, especially during busy exhibition periods. There is also a shopping center within walking distance, and getting to the airport is easy and convenient using the fast train. The main downside is the location. It is quite far from Berlin’s main tourist areas and attractions, so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for someone visiting Berlin mainly for sightseeing. However, for our purpose—attending the trade show and having a comfortable, reasonably priced place to stay with good airport connections—it has been an excellent choice, which is why we have returned several times.

    Ocak seems quite far away from the centre on the map, but it's really only a 10-20 minute Uber ride from most of the key Berlin attractions (which equates to €10-15, easily compensated for by the nightly rate), and also a U and S station 3 minutes away. The building is completely modern, 5 star in appearance, and seems in terms of design and quality almost lifted up from the more central strips, and dropped in here to the local neighbourhood, somewhat out of place, but all the better for that. A friendly staff member hovers around the 'self check-in' tablets at reception to help. The rooms (and corridors!!) are fresh and clean, and well attended to by the discrete cleaning staff. Minor gripes - check out is a hard stop 11 am unless you are willing to pay for a few extra hours. Some flexibility on that would be appreciated. And on requesting a quiet room away from the street noise, you face the risk of being housed over the service areas at the back where the develiery and rubbish collection noise starts at 7am. I was on the 2nd floor right over the garbage truck area with all the beeping and clattering that entails, but higher up, or to the front, should be fine. And at least the noise reflects efficienc... Given the considerable price difference between Ocak and the more familiar centrally located brand hotels, I would not hesitate to stay here again. If you don't expect to walk out onto Potsdamer Platz or Friedrichstraße from the hotel door, there are plenty of reasons to choose Ocak - exceptional value for money being key in an overpriced city.

    The location is excellent close to shopping and transport options making it very convenient. While the cleanliness was generally good, the staff interaction could be warmer. Overall it offers solid value for money in a practical sitting

    Berlin is not cheap. But this stay is what you get for a reasonable price and close to all you need. A big train station is just 6 minutes walking from the hotel, making it really easy to get around the city. The apartments are very new and tidy. The neighborhood is quite calm and safe. The problem starts with check in. There are totems for you to do it yourself. But the system is terrible. Since these are two separate segments of the same hotel (regular and apartments) it can get very confusing where to go and what to do. Just one receptionist for a full lobby of people trying to check in is far from enough The apartments contain a guest guide for services and general information. WiFi is very fast and stable. But do not bother to try calling the reception. Even though the guide included the possibility of requesting an ironing board, I could not get a person to answer the phone at reception. And I have tried. Countless times. Since the reception in which you check in is not the same one for the building you stay, things get really confusing really fast. It is a good place to stay. It is quite new. But do not expect and exceptional service.
