The first thing I learnt about Berlin when walking towards this hotel was that distance is relative. Google map stated the distance to be a 12 min walk, but I do not think it included the various traffic stops and alternate cobble-stoned pavements that slowed the pace when wheeling a luggage bag is involved. That said, it's pretty easy to locate since it's one straight road once from the Ibis hotel just outside the entrance of Berlin Hbf. A tram ride halves the time and stops right in front of the hotel but that involves dragging luggage up and down and past tram lines. There are supermarkets, cafes and restaurants in the area, 5 to 10mins walk away. The plus points for this hotel is the tram and U bahn that is less than 3 mins walk away that will bring you into the central main attraction areas. Room Arrived at 12 noon and was given early check in once I signed up online as an Accor member. The room allocated was on the highest floor facing the Nature museum. It was just right for 1 person, maybe a little tight for 2. The bedframe was obviously too large for the mattresses and I knocked my leg against it trying to navigate around it while avoiding the desk nearby. Fortunately no bruises from it. There is a see through window between the bathroom and bedroom. The pillow and mattress was firm, there are USB charging ports in addition to the usual sockets. In the eco-friendly fashion, there are no personal amenities offered although there are good size shampoo, shower and hand gel provided as well as towels. Although my room did not face the street, I could hear the tram and constant sirens (learnt on last day that a hospital is nearby). Fortunately, my neighbors were quiet. Stay would have been more enjoyable but a fire alarm went off around 1ish AM on my first night leading to an early morning evacuation. There were no staff to direct of inform guests on what to do or what was happening. Fortunately, it turned out to be a false alarm, and we treated it as an "adventure". Pros Choose this place if you want a little less crowd and still have convenience.
