Breakfast was extra at 18 euros per person which was very expensive for what was offered The hotel is not air conditioned and unfortunately temperatures reached 90 during our stay The staff are very helpful and friendly. The location is very good for restaurants and access to public transportation

Very cute area with a great bakery. We didnt try the breakfast at the hotel as the bakery was so good. Our kids had their own bed. A nice wuiet location to recover after a long flight.

Very nice stay. Cute and clean property. Convenient location. Yummy breakfast. Staff very nice and friendly. Parking is a little difficult in the area. They have limited courtyard parking for a few and must reserve in advance. Regardless of parking, would definitely stay here again!

The room was a good size for the family, but the two problems with the otherwise good hotel was the lack of parking (if you didn't reserve a parking spot ahead of time you get a card that lets you street-park within a section of the town), and it was not possible to take a proper shower, which I suspect is because we were on the top floor. If you are a solo or couple traveller with no car (or a parking reservation) this would probably be a 5 star hotel for you.

We stayed with our 2 children and really appreciated the quiet location and very friendly staff. The large double rooms with an en-suite bathroom are clean and tidy, and the beds were excellent. It was very hot when we stayed, so the fans in each room were a nice touch. Breakfast in the hotel was very relaxed. Handschuhsheim has a good selection of places to eat and drink close to the hotel. They all seem very popular with local people, so if you want to sit outside then arrive early. The Alt Hendesse and Giblets Goldener Adler are fairly traditional and would be our pick. Getting in to Heidelberg town is simple thanks to the tram line about 5 minutes walk away. If we visited Heidelberg again, we'd definitely book this hotel again.

We LOVED this property in Heidelberg! We booked a regular room but got upgraded for free to a large family room with two bedrooms, a large bathroom and a kitchen - Room 4. My husband and I were thrilled to see the large bathroom - so rare for hotels in Europe. The hotel had quick WiFi and a TV with a two television stations in English. The man at the front desk carried all our luggage up for us and provided us with a map of the town, directions to Old Town and gave us a lot of insight on how to use the rail train/Metro system in the town. This was a 5-minute walk from the hotel and was a great way to get into the main part of Heidelberg. Breakfast in the morning was phenomenal! A large array of lunchmeat, cheese, cereals, fruits and they had scrambled eggs and bacon too! The area was safe, quiet and easy to walk around in. We had a rental car, arrived around 3pm on a weekday and had 4 spots to choose from in their parking lot. There were 6 spots available and other street parking across the street. By the time we got back to the hotel in the evening, around 8:30pm, the lot was full but it seemed there was still some street parking still available. The gate to the hotel is operated with the same key used for your room, if you arrive late at night when the gate is closed. Overall, LOVED this place and couldn't recommend it more!

Very nice gasthaus. Owner speaks German or English and they provide a very good international breakfast every morning. The entire place is very clean.
