Hotel Amari

Great place and location. The only fault was only some channels didn't work on the tv but quiet to sleep Thanks

I booked two nights at the Amari first for its exceptionally reasonable price, and second for its location, close to Union Square and central SF. I had stayed in a hotel in the same area 35 years before and couldn't have been happier. It turns out, the hotel I stayed in years ago, The Beresford, had become the Amari. Very spooky. The Amari was as pleasant a stay as the Beresford: clean, quiet, nicely if modestly furnished, and perfectly located in the Nob Hill area. You won't find a better deal for this grade hotel in this neighborhood. Highly recommended!

They are required by California law to disclose fees on the listing prior to purchase. On site they informed us they have a $250 deposit that they tell you could be held for 30 days on debit cards. He tried to tell me it's due to banks which isn't true because I own a business and process refunds. Never once at my business or at any business has a refund of a deposit taken 30 days. Also, they charge $50 for parking which is ridiculous. The last outrageous fee is he told us if we go past checkout at 11am it's $150 fee. I thought I misunderstood him but then I heard him tell another person the same thing. I paid less than that for valet at a 5 star hotel a month ago. I stay in like 30 hotels a year and have never seen these kinds of fees. Lastly, they do not have AC or thermostats in the rooms. It was incredibly hot and muggy in the room. We opened the window but it didn't really help. I was going to plug in the fan near the window but half the outlets didn't work. The front desk guy overall was joyless and not even a little friendly. The hotel itself isn't terrible it just needs better ownership.
