    We reached the hotel at around 8 pm . The first thing they said is concierge service is off during check-in. Second the WiFi was not connected with the TV in my 2 nights of stay and after multiple followup since I have a kid the issue was not fixed. The staff apart from Front office are terrible in understanding English. I asked for fresh towels and they came up with cups and saucers. Overall if you are willing to pay a price for a 5 star and get a service with 1 or 2 star property you can choose the hotel

    The rooms are very nice, clean, and comfortable, with a spacious and well maintained bathroom. However, the service and the attitude of staffs at the restaurant could be improved.

    Extremely Disappointing Experience at a Hotel That Claims to Be 5-Star As Malaysians who have worked in Singapore’s hotel and F&B industry for almost 12 years, we understand the standards expected of a five-star hotel. Unfortunately, this experience fell far below our expectations. We checked in around 6 PM after a tiring seven-hour journey from Sapa, looking forward to a relaxing stay. Instead, we regretted our advance payment almost immediately. 1. Rude and Unwelcoming Front Desk * The receptionist rolled her eyes and raised her voice when requesting our passports, without allowing us to finish explaining. * No warm greetings, smiles or genuine hospitality from the front desk team. * They treated us as though we owed them money rather than being paying guests. * Staff made us feel like an inconvenience rather than valued guests. 2. Poor Assistance with Late Check-Out * When we enquired about extending our stay that evening, we were told no duty manager was available and to return the next morning. * The following morning, a staff member abruptly redirected us to another counter instead of assisting us properly. * We were quoted VND 2,000,000 for a late check-out at 12 5 PM. (4hr) Despite explaining that we had checked in late the previous evening, 6pm, no flexibility was offered, and we agreed to pay. The money was never the issue. The service was. We pay for professionalism, comfort and hospitality, not just a luxurious-looking property. 3. Luxury in Appearance, Disappointment in Reality * Gold-painted interiors and attractive promotional photographs do not automatically justify a five-star rating. * Basic facilities, clear communication and genuine hospitality are equally important. * Even when a request cannot be accommodated, guests deserve polite and professional treatment. Location and Nearby Amenities * The location is not particularly convenient, with limited food options and local Vietnamese shops nearby. * For guests who want to explore local food and experience Vietnamese culture, the surrounding area is big no. Final Recommendation Having stayed at numerous four-star and five-star hotels, this was one of our worst experiences. We are genuinely surprised by this hotel’s five-star rating. We hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves its customer service standards. Unfortunately, we will not recommend this hotel to our colleagues or friends, and this experience has made us reconsider staying at other Wyndham properties worldwide. A five-star hotel should be defined by its hospitality, professionalism and guest experience not simply its appearance. Guests should feel valued, not unwelcome.
