    We arrived at Tropics Eight very late and were warmly greeted by the friendly and helpful Mr. Kumar. Throughout our stay, we found the staff to be very helpful and accommodating. The rooms are minimalist but spacious and clean, making for a comfortable stay. Parking can be a little challenging, and the RM200 deposit to ensure the cleanliness of the room and care of the furnishings is somewhat unconventional. Overall, Tropics Eight has been a very pleasant place to stay. We were comfortable and happy with our experience—so much so that we decided to extend our stay.

    I was very disappointed with my recent stay. Upon checking into my room, I was provided with used toiletries in the bathroom - a previously opened toothpaste tube. This was extremely unhygienic and unacceptable for a hotel that should prioritize cleanliness and guest comfort. This is the first time I’ve ever encountered such an issue in a hotel, and it left me questioning the housekeeping standards here. A guest should never have to worry about whether their room has been properly cleaned and prepared. I sincerely hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves their quality control, because hygiene is non-negotiable in hospitality.

    Strange place. I thought I booked a type of room with a window on Agoda for 2 nights, separate bookings. After I checked in and saw no window I went to ask and they said no, no window is what you booked. I let it go. Then with another appointment at Adventist tomorrow I decided to extend a third night, thinking, well it does not have a window but if I choose the same type of room with no window then I at least do not have to move. So I booked the no window room on Agoda. But they say I must move because my no window room is not the same as the no window room I just booked. But I only saw one category of room with no window! I talked to a receptionist lady about how complicated their room categories are with regards to windows and like a broken record she kept saying I have been in a deluxe "shoot" and now I would have to move to a standard "shoot". So this is a windowless suite that I am in. Asked if by "shoot" she meant the word suite she replied, No, a shoot"! If so what strange people these are and stubborn also because the rooms I chose are similar prices anyway. Bad, inflexible service means bad reviews, and they deserve this one. You guys just 'shoot' yourselves in the foot. As for Tropics Eight's response, it serves to reinforce how confusing they are. She said "the rooms MAY NOT have a window". They most certainly DO NOT, both the King Deluxe and the standard studio. Agoda did not make a mistake because they only show what the establishment gives them. Management here is just trying to be cute with their room descriptions and not be CLEAR on any category with no windows because they know most people really dislike a unit with no window. BTW, I have no problem listening to accents, and I specifically asked the receptionist if she meant 'suite' when she kept saying "shoot"? She said "No, I mean shoot!" Sorry, but what an overly stubborn rock head. Worldwide, even in India where I just traveled all over for 1 month, nobody says shoot...unless they are talking about a camera or gun. So for me as a guest, the safest bet is to choose a different business that describes their units more clearly next time.
