We were having so much fun in Tahoe and decided to extend our stay. We loved the Olympic Village Inn where we were staying but they were sold out for an additional night. Plumpjack’s was nearby and available, so we quickly booked it, despite it being more expensive. We couldn’t have been more disappointed.
Pros: front desk was very courteous and the location was great - adjacent to Olympic Village.
Cons: room and property is dated - think 90’s industrial that looked more cliche than sophisticated - but we could deal with that. However, the sink fixtures in the bathroom were rusty and the rug throughout looked filthy/stained. The beds were excessively high. This would be difficult for the elderly, people with accessibility issues or knee injuries. And the mattresses… awful! They were ultra soft and felt like a deflating airbed. None of us slept well. Blinds were broken, so we had to adjust them manually. Lastly, when we were parking our car, a maintenance man, older fella, felt obliged to hover over my car and yell at me while I tried to park. It became so ridiculous that it felt like harassment. I did my best to ignore him, but wtf.
All in all, not worth the money - we a had a charming, unpretentious suite for $100 less at the Olympic Village Inn with far better amenities and vibe. This worked out well as Olympic Village itself is a ghost town in the summer, so having onsite activities at Olympic Village Inn was a big plus after a day of fun on the lake. Don’t waste your money at Plumpjack’s.

We had a great stay at PlumpJack and enjoyed the great location, the dog-friendly policies, and the facilities. The room was clean and comfortable, though could use a refresh. That said, we'd definitely book another stay here.
