Stayed here a few times now en route to Spain with our dog. This time the room had been refurbed. Clean and fresh. Food and service always great. The Lady in the restaurant is wonderful.

Difficult to find if you arrive after dark. Room was tired but it was clean and the bed very comfortable. Thin walls. Adequate for one night stay before channel crossing. Parking is behind the hotel but not secure parking. It was safe however. Dogs allowed in the restaurant … so long as not too many already in there. Lots of takeaways and restaurants close to the hotel. Fab boulangerie opposite for coffee and pastries … and to take a loaf home! Extra 10 euros for one dog and local taxes payable direct to the hotel.

Christian was amazing. He was working alone as receptionist, bar tender and cook. He couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. Even though the cook hadn’t turned up, he made us a delicious meal.

Location is good for travellers, close to the A16. The back looks out over fields and is generally quiet. Parking is good. Our check in was easy. The room was OK, but no more. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom functionally OK but quite small. We were only given a bath towel each, no hand towel. There was a musty smell and we opened the window. We did not eat there as we wanted a light meal and a light breakfast. Basically it was just a bed for the night, with nothing apart from the essentials.

This is a simple, efficient, friendly and well-run hotel. Also has an excellent restaurant for a hotel of this size. In fact I literally just stayed at the Ibis Styles Châtelaillon-Plage which has a spa, a pool and is near the beach - a nice hotel too, but its restaurant really is pricey and mediocre. The Ibis Abbeville, supposedly a lower standard absolutely beats it hands down with regard to service and its restaurant.
