Decor, location
It would have been nice to have some blankets in the lounge and bedrooms as it was cold when we arrived. Also there was a hardly any tea/sugar/coffee and the sugar was hard

Clean and central but the whole time we were there we never saw anyone. We let ourselves in. Small town vibes. Parking on the streets.
No shampoos or conditioner or soap was provided. Luckily we brought our own from other hotels.

I stayed here for a couple of nights with some friends and it was a perfect little getaway for our trip. Beautifully appointed throughout and super comfy beds. It's an excellent central location and we easily found free parking a minutes walk from the property due to clear instructions. A gem of a place and I'm very happy to recommend it!
A couple of reviews mentioned traffic noise as the property is on a crossroads but it didn't bother us in the slightest - and we all live very rurally and are used to silence!

Beautiful, traditional home that really gives you a taste of Chichester history. Very comfortable and family friendly.
Some very slight noise issues, but hard to avoid in a period property of this type. (Outside traffic + internal pipes)

It's a little noisy at night as it's just close to the centre.

Nothing. This is an extremely deceptive listing it states that there is air condition in the property, which would have you believe that the entire property is air-conditioned but once you see the property, there is absolutely no air conditioning other than a small unit on the third floor, which you have to connect the exhaust Vent pipe which is about 12 foot long to an open window. Therefore, you have to leave the window open all night or as long as you choose to have that air conditioning running and if you choose to move that air conditioner around, it weighs about 50 pounds and you can carry it down to the second floor or then the ground floor. This is not feasible to move around as this apartment is meant for more than two people so even if you chose to keep the window open all night just so the exhaust from the air condition can work the people on the second floor or the ground floor would not have any type of air-conditioning.
We did not stay here. We booked four nights at this property but only stayed for 45 minutes after seeing the condition of the staircase along with no air-conditioning we had to spend another £1200 to stay at another hotel.
It is a deceptive host that does not disclose this and rather says that the property has air-conditioning
The property does not really have any air-conditioning as I have mentioned above. It has a small 50 pound unit that you would have to move up and down and connect through a 12 foot long exhaust pipe to an open window. There is no air-conditioning in this property and also the host is extremely deceptive as they say that the staircases are OK for young children, but they are narrow and extremely steep so anyone with any minor mobility issues or young children could fall and hurt themselves very badly. We ended up not staying in this booking at all we came in looked around and immediately left and had to spend another £1200 to stay at a hotel nearby. We booked the hotel but did not stay here for more than 45 minutes as it was too dangerous and with no air-conditioning.

This is a beautifully restored grade 11 listed property that is centrally situated and in easy walking distance to cafes and local sites. The downstairs living and kitchen are well proportioned and the bathroom is lovely with a bath and walk in show and outside of it is a good dressing space. While there is no dishwasher, there is a washing machine which is always good for travelers and longer stays.
The noise of traffic did not enable us to relax in the space or to open curtains and window, so we spent most of our time out and about. The property is on the intersection of a ring road for the town - so there is constant noisy traffic going by all day and most of the night. Investment in double glazing would help address this issue and improve the comfort of the living space and bedrooms that are all on the road side of the building.
As with many historic properties the stairs are very steep so we didn't bother dragging our larger suitcases up them. The only bathroom and toilet is on the second floor. The main king size bed is in the attic space (up a second set of steep stairs). This room has a number of low beams and low angled walls, that are common for these spaces but challenging - my partner was not able to sleep in this space. The second floor opposite the only bathroom/ toilet has a double bed and a bunk bed with good head room for adults. It would be better to have the main king bed on this level (or a queen) and the double or singles in the lower space upstairs for those smaller people in the family.
Free parking was the other challenge but there is pay parking not too far away.
