    If you are a solo traveller, may be. But for families, each night was overpriced compared to what you can enjoy at the hotel. They charge NT$500 for a lost room key card, each board game (for games, it’s a deposit) No gym, no facilities for families . The room cleanness was an issue. The bathroom floor was so dirty. The city view was just horrendous, but for traveling Taipei, this is something you will run into everywhere. The city is ugly, maybe except for the areas around Taipei 101. The city is really dirty and run down. In front of the hotel, there’s nothing but dirty buildings, convinience stores, dirty looking shops. Maybe some places are clean inside, but the appearance of them just ward you off and make you think twice whether or not you will get sick eating there. Taiwanese people are nice and friendly though. The hotel’s staff weren’t though, but some staff were nice. There’s generosity plentiful, all the hotels seem to give free tea, snacks, water, which was very nice and I was grateful for. But Taiwan’s hygiene and cleanness are something you should consider before coming, as opposed to what you see in their ads. All the tech and semi conductor hype doesn’t seem to be true because the country and people look quite poor. I am sure there is a lot of wealth here, but it doesn’t seem the majority are. I’ve stayed in Marriott’s, and other five start hotels in Taitung and Yilan. Those hotels however were very nice and clean, but I found bugs in the soup in the buffet. I guess it’s something you have to put up with traveling South east Asia where there’s a lot of bugs and insects due to the vegetation and tropical weather. Taiwan was definitely different from other East Asian countries. I enjoyed travelling Korea, Japan, and Shanghai. They were different levels and experiences, and better standards.

    The executive suite was roomy. The front desk was helpful. The housekeeping crew did a great job tidying my room. A short walk to a MRT station on the Orange Line. Great bang for the buck!
