Vertshuset Konow

This is a very nice place if you aim to stay far from the city. Our suite had a big size, very well designed. Big bathroom with a tub. We stayed for one night before we leave to the airport and we needed a place like this to relax. We met the owner just before we leave, she is very nice person. Actually we found a welcome card with warm words at the room when we arrived, we really appreciate that.

It was bit confusing to arrive and no staff there “I think it was their off day”. We had the instructions to find our room but because the place is an old house so it was bit challenging to find the room. The parking area is too small so we hardly found somewhere to park “we blocked the wheelchair entrance and left our number “ which we were not happy about. The bed is too soft for us, so it was not comfortable.

This is a beautifully and sensitively restored old guesthouse with only two rooms, retaining much of its original character and charm. We were the only guests during our stay, which made it wonderfully peaceful and quiet. Although the hotel is set up for self check-in, our lovely host still took plenty of time to welcome us personally and show us everything. The house is beautifully situated above the water, in a very peaceful setting. We had dinner at the restaurant in the evening and received the same warm and friendly service there. As the hotel is located a little outside Bergen, having a car is certainly convenient. However, the tram is also easily accessible with a pleasant 20-minute walk through the quiet neighbourhood, and takes you directly into the centre of Bergen. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily book this lovely place again.
