Short break

Judges lodging is a must if your staying in Gloucester. Outstanding accommodation that was spotless (thank you housekeeping!) Great decor that was sumptuous in design and colour (rm 16). Everything you need for a home from home. Communication excellent from start to finish. Great location just 5 minutes to the docks that we used to dine, as recommended from Judges lodge and the restaurant didn't disappoint.

Amazing place

My wife and I stayed at Judges lodgings Gloucester with our dog, Stanley. There's a park opposite which was very handy. When we walked into the apartment we were gobsmacked with the decor. It is like walking into a stately house, we loved it. It is clean, tidy and well equipped. The bed was good, the bathroom was spotless. A short walk to Gloucester quays and the city centre. Lots of cafes and places to eat at the quays. We had apartment 8 which is on the ground floor, great for two in there latter years like us.

Shouldn't be missed.

This is an absolutely fantastic apartment in a great location with all the facilities that you need. The decor is brilliant, particularly the art in the main hallway. The apartment is well laid out with all the equipment you would need for an extended or short stay and the careful way in which the hosts provide the "basics" - tea, coffee, sugar, oil, dishwasher tablets, washing tablets was a wonderful touch. There was also ice available and even a fresh lemon. Lovely touch. Communication was excellent and very clear with loads of helpful information provided beforehand and upon arrival. We found the parking arrangements also very helpful with the opportunity to park a bit before check in and after check out really useful. I would say this is easily the best and most considered apartment, in respect of facilities and service, that I have booked on Booking.com

Disappointing stay

Location was great; only a few minutes walk from the docks. It was warm and the beds were comfy.

My husband's family stayed here for our wedding and we were really disappointed. We couldn't open the sofa bed. The cleaner tried too but she couldn't and then she told the owner that my family wouldn't let her in. The water for the showers was cold. The guy came round to fix it as soon as it was reported but it was a hassle to have to get fixed. There is only one key despite 6 people staying plus my family was locked out the first night because the wind blew it shut and the only key was inside. We were given instructions on how to retrieve the cleaner's key from the storage room in order to get back in. The entire place had carpet including the entrance and the people coming to fix things wore their outside shoes as they walked on the carpets inside.

Excellent - great location, fabulous apartments, secure parking.

Whenever we are in or around Gloucester, this has become our "go to" place to stop. Secure parking at the rear, beautiful and unusual rooms, great location, huge apartments (we have stopped in 5 or 6 different ones now - I think there are around 15 in total to choose from), and really well equipped. Apartment Number 8 is superb.

I can't think of anything that was missing or could be improved.

Great location near the docks. Lovely apartments. All very clean and stylish. Kitchens with everything we needed. Better than the photos! We had a great family Christmas there.

Great stay!

Great location, had everything we needed, suitable parking facility, helpful when asking questions. King-size bed was very comfortable. Hot showers. Great recommendations provided.

The dishwasher wasn't great (may just need to be cleaned etc) so didn't clean all dishes (first world problems). Second bed wasn't overly comfortable.

Disappointed 😞

The location is absolutely perfect. Easy access to the quay and town, all within walking distance. Well equipped kitchen.

Mold in both bathrooms on tiles and blind. Dishwasher extremely dirty. Swing bin broken, shelf in fridge broken. Third bedroom consisted of a single bed placed in passageway by front door with a staircase leading to a locked door, very cold and no bathroom access, would have to use one of the on suites. Stuffed wild animals mounted on wall and in glass case.

We enjoyed the overall stay.

Easy to access location and hassle free check-in. Premises is well maintained and cleaned. High privacy and no disturbances, easy access for all the amenities. Walking distance for the town center(high street and shopping) and secured parking. Heating system and hot water are well operating.

WiFi Is very poor (really slow and could not connect to any personal devices uninterrupted). No bathrobe, and slippers. Since the living room floor is not carpeted its bit cold and better if the slippers are available. Any of the tv applications were not connected and it's not at all possible for guest to get connected with any application with poor wi-fi facility. Telephone signals also low since Apartment 5th is in ground floor. Drinking water not available and the refrigerator is not so friendly. Can not keep any frozen items stored with low cooling. kindly change the kitch soap dispenser to easy use container.

Absolutely fabulous apart from the parking arrangements.

The Housekeeper was amazingly friendly and helpful. 10 stars. The rooms were all fabulous. 10 stars. Great views of the park opposite. 10 stars. Will definitely visit again.

1) Parking was a let-down in multiple ways. (a) Given that booking.com makes such a big deal about the 'secure parking' by adding it into the accommodation name, it was disappointing that it was a standard carpark at the back of the building with no controlled access and easy for anyone to enter. This meant we had to unload stuff we had hoped to leave hidden in the car boot and carry it up 2 floors without a lift. (b) This accommodation 'for 6 adults' turned out at the last minute only to include parking for one car (though there were plenty of spare spaces we could have been offered). We had to make an extra payment direct to the owner (not via booking.com) to put the second car in alternative 'secure parking' which was in a VERY dodgy area in front of an unoccupied building and semi-hidden by trees. Definitely safer to park for free on the street.

Beautiful, clean and a great location

Beautiful eclectic apartment with some very interesting pieces of art. It was warm and cosy, well stocked and spotlessly clean. Short walk from everything you would need. Instructions to get in were long but clear. Free parking very handy and second parking space easy to find and just a short walk away.

it was a very unique apartment with a mezzanine floor which included a bathroom. We were a family staying but I am not sure I would stay with friends as there was a lack of privacy. You can hear every movement from downstairs including when the bathroom light goes on.

Would recommend and stay again

Great location as it’s a short walk to pubs and restaurants. Quite quiet despite being in the city centre. Loved the art work pieces and choice of interesting objects d’art. The apartments had been thought about and had character.

Decorative finishings were a little unfinished in places eg in the bathroom. Listening to a child running around above our room at 5:30 on a Sunday!

Great communication with clear instructions how to find and access the building. Loved the ability to park safely at the property. Great attention to detail. Beautiful apartment which was larger than appeared on the photos. We appreciated the quirky interior. Quiet and peaceful with great bars and restaurants 10 mins walk away.

1 night stay in comfort

Spacious, light comfortable apartment in attractive old house. Fun and interesting decoration with all comforts supplied including a full kitchen. The reception room on the first floor faced the park with large windows letting in much light. Parking on site. Just a short walk to Gloucester Docks and Quays. Was quiet staying on a Friday night although parking suggested house was full.

Security gate on parking wasn't working. Front door lock was not working and the codes for everywhere else need reviewing.

A perfect property to stay in when visiting Gloucester

It was perfect for our requirements for the reasons given above.

Very minor: The front window security catches were inoperable. The inside steps from the front of the property to the rear car park were very difficult to use when manouvering baggage.
