The location was good, with plenty of restaurants, cafés and other places to eat nearby. The apartment itself has a nice decorative style, and the gold details and ornaments are pleasant to look at. The photos on Booking.com also make the apartment look very attractive and inviting, and the overall concept of the interior is nice.

Unfortunately, the apartment did not live up to the expectations created by the photos on Booking.com. The photos make it look like a nice, clean and well-maintained apartment, but in reality it is much more worn and neglected. The building and the immediate surroundings also look quite different from what you might expect from the photos. The apartment clearly needs renovation and more thorough cleaning. The frying pans were extremely old, dirty and neglected and should definitely be replaced. The rug in the living room was also very dirty and looked like it had not been cleaned properly for a long time. There were many small but unpleasant issues: silicone peeling away around the sink, a hole in the linoleum floor, an old sponge left by the sink and no hand soap in the bathroom. There was also bread left in the fridge, presumably from previous guests, and leftover ice in the freezer, which made us question how thoroughly the apartment had been cleaned. The coffee machine was another major disappointment. The apartment is advertised as having a coffee machine, and before our stay I specifically asked the host whether coffee pods would be provided because we were looking forward to having a coffee in the morning. The host confirmed that they would be. However, when we arrived, there was not a single coffee pod. The machine was completely empty. There was also no tea, no coffee and not even basic things such as salt or other seasoning. The towels and bed linen are dark navy blue, which makes it difficult to know whether they are really clean and freshly washed. While this does not necessarily mean that they were dirty, it certainly does not give you the same feeling of freshness as clean white towels and bedding. The windows are old and can only be opened slightly. As the apartment is on the ground floor, we did not feel comfortable leaving the windows open at night because of security concerns, making it difficult to get fresh air.
