NIU Reforma

I booked a standard room at NIU for two nights. The standard room shown in the listing is not the room I received. I was assigned a standard double room instead when I got there, which felt misleading, as the listing photo showed a front-facing room with large windows and a king bed. The room I received was on floor J, next to the gym, and faced the back of the building. It had a double bed and limited natural light, which was not what I expected. That said, the room was clean and had everything I needed. The bed was comfortable, the staff were great, and the location is very good. It’s close to Reforma, with plenty of shopping, restaurants, and cafés nearby. The free breakfast in the rooftop area was a nice touch, but very basic, and the coffee was not good. This wasn’t a major issue since there are many good coffee and breakfast options in the area, including a café downstairs. I would stay here again, but I would choose a different room category next time.

The noise level is so bad from street noise that it was impossible to get a decent night’s sleep. This is a high traffic area with horns blaring and people yelling at all hours of the day and night. Don’t expect to get any sleep here. There’s no housing keeping to speak of. No one to take out trash, replenish soap, TP, towels, etc. There was no hotel staff, just a “security guard” at a tiny desk inside the front door. If I had wanted that experience, I would have booked an AirBnB.
