The hotel was relatively well located. I really enjoyed the direct view of Mount Vesuvius from our beautiful balcony. The staff responded quite quickly, which was very nice. I also appreciated their thoughtful gesture at the end with the little gift: a mini bottle of limoncello in a pouch.
Between the photos and the reality, I was very disappointed. I was expecting something luxurious, with a bit of a 70s charm, but it wasn’t the case at all. The price felt excessive for such a simple room. For the same amount, I had stayed in an incredible hotel on the main avenue in Sorrento. Here, the room was just basic, with nothing more than a wallpapered wall.
We arrived around 4:30 pm and were welcomed by a woman barefoot, wearing pajama shorts, who seemed surprised to see us. The heat was unbearable, so we had to sleep with the air conditioning on. There was no full-length mirror, which made it difficult to check outfits.
The room was part of a residence: every evening, we could hear everything going on in the building. On Monday night, a party just below our balcony lasted until 1 am, making it impossible to sleep. On top of that, being right next to the check-in desk meant we heard every noise. And on the night before our departure, a dozen alarms went off between 5 and 6 am — enough to wake us up completely, but apparently not the person who set them. We really slept very badly; the stay was not restful at all.
700 euros for three nights in such a room, with nothing more than a wallpapered wall, is truly overpriced.
