Cosy & Compact Apartment in Swinton

I stayed here twice and extended my first stay. The staff are very easy to contact about issues and the host is friendly. I reported a couple issues (the shower was leaking and the hoover had broken) and they were fixed very quickly. The upstairs clothes horse was broken so a new one was brought out. Also please note - there are no signs inside the apartment telling you where to find the bins if they are not in the alley, and telling you how to get access to the compound on the other side of the building. There is no food waste bin or brown bin belonging to the property that I would find during either of my stays.

For an £85 cleaning fee you would expect a clean apartment with immaculate amenities. As mentioned above the hoover was broken, which explained why the apartment was very gritty and dirty. My first impression was that it wasn't very well cleaned. The first time I arrived there was hair and crumbs on the floor in every room, the second time I arrived there was food stuck to the stairs that hadn't been cleaned. There was a mouldy place mat left in a drawer, which had got mould on the chopping mat below. I do want to say that this was raised to the host and the place mat was removed and a new chopping board was dropped off. The freezer door wouldn't close properly because ice had grown outside of the freezer preventing its closure. With all the issues I had to raise and replacements that had to be brought out, it seems that the apartment is not checked regularly by the host for any issues. I had to wash the towels on my first arrival as they had a couple marks in places. The hallway/stairs smells of damp, presumably from the mop bucket. The bed isn't the comfiest and I will say tall people will struggle in it as it's up to the wall. I think I found some chewing gum stuck in a pillow case too. The only amenities in the apartment is a small bag with shampoo/conditioner/body wash/soap bar. Anything else you see is what someone has left behind. When I arrived the first time there was free tea bags, milk pouches, and coffee sachets, but these were not provided the second time. There are no sponges, washing up gloves, kitchen roll, bin bags etc that make an apartment go that extra mile. For an £85 cleaning fee I would have thought that this money was spent on amenities. The key box collection code was not changed from my first visit to my second. The was a different guest in between. On my second visit I was told a different key box code, but could not get in until I tried the key box code from my first visit.
