After you’ve sampled the local food and drinks—many grown right here in this top-producing agricultural region—and shopped at our many independent boutiques, head out into Pure Michigan natural beauty at our gorgeous beaches, trails, and state parks. Nearby Oval Beach was ranked by Conde Nast Traveler as one of the top 25 best shorelines on the entire planet! Rent a watercraft or take a dip in sparkling, immaculate Lake Michigan, then climb our mountainous sand dunes to shady wooded trails.

Want to get active outside? Oval Beach is a 10 minute walk away, and Conde Nast Traveler has ranked it in the top 25 best shorelines in the world! That's right, the WORLD! State-known hiking and biking trails fill the area, and gorgeous state parks with majestic forested dunes line the shoreline. Fishing, boating, kayaking—you name it, we’ve got it! Other fun day activities include visiting one of the region’s many berry farms and orchards to pick your own delicious Michigan fruit, taking a thrilling dune ride, enjoying live music and theater, or touring one of many more charming towns dotting the Eastern shore of Lake Michigan.

This home is tastefully filled with beautiful, original artwork and objects from around the world, high-end custom finishes that have been expertly crafted by local woodworkers, and modern appliances, all of which make you feel like you're staying at a 5-star resort. Walk through the front doors, and you are immediately greeted by a luxurious scent that is one you will never forget. Indulge in our fabulous shower products from Malin & Goetz and our artisanal bath products from Michigan's Soap Shed. The kitchen is jam packed with fabulous amenities like our Coffee and Tea Bar with our own Art Coast Signature Blend of coffee from Uncommon Coffee Roasters, a variety of teas from Michigan Made tea company Fraser Teas, tons of basic (and not to basic) cooking spices, robust olive oil & succulent balsamic, flour & sugar, the list goes on and on. Our sleeping accommodations are dressed with crisp percale sheets from Parachute and luxurious pillows (no need to worry about bringing your own here!). You will also find fluffy bath towels and Turkish cotton robes gracing the stunning bathrooms. SKOVHUS is mere steps from Oval Beach, the Saugatuck Chain Ferry. and just a short drive from Saugatuck/Douglas, Fennville, and various wineries/breweries. Don't feel like driving? No problem there! The Saugatuck Chain Ferry is a 9-minute walk and carts you right across the river to land you right in Downtown Saugatuck! There is also the Saugatuck Township Interurban Transit Authority that offers pick-ups and drop-offs for only $1 each way to anywhere in Saugatuck Township. Simply call in the moment or ahead and reserve a time and pick-up/drop-off location, and your chariot awaits!

Want to venture out into the rest of Michigan's Art Coast? Downtown South Haven and Holland are only a 20-minute drive away and offer a whole different vibe filled with other activities to explore!
