Sherpa's Hostel High Tatras

Great location near the Tatranský Lieskovec stop (zubačka) - so you can get into the mountains quickly and effortlessly with the ticket to local trains (daily tickets can be bought on board as well with a credit card). Great view from the balcony and nicely equiped kitchen, bathroom and fine bedroom with your own nice shelf + peg, plug and light next to your bed, white curtain to shade other people. Enough storage space (drawers, pegs). Calm, quiet place, walking distance from the main train station. Affordable. You need inside shoes or go barefoot inside, which helps with the cleanliness. I like that.

It was a bit confusing for me. From the description, I didn't realised it was a SELF-CHECK IN, so be warned if you are one of these rare creatures called offline/unpluged travelers. The reception is probably virtual, there is not a reception at the site. I have seen a person of staff doing laundry in the everyning, so I hope they would have had answered a call, should you be in the need of an assistance (luckily, I wasn't). The lockers bellow the beds did not lock or haven't had keys at all. It was a nice hostel, just a bit of clearer comunication while booking would have saved me some nerves. That being said I might stay here again with some strategies in place, because the spot itself is nice and hostel cozy, we just have had some crossed wires. And most of you would have no issues with self-check in anyway.

Nice views from balcony, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, big bathroom.

Minor things but would be nice to have tea/coffee and hairdryer.

We had a problem with opening the Appartement door. The green led was ON, but the door couldn't be opened after entering the right code. The next guest had the same problem.
