Sehr schöne Unterkunft mit guten Vibes in zentraler Lage! Wir hatten die Unterkunft mit Klimaanlage und das war super! Die Gastgeber sind ebenfalls sehr entspannt, freundlich und hilfsbereit! Wir kommen gerne wieder! Gegenüber hat die nette Nachbarsfamilie ein gutes Restaurant für die die authentische lokale Küche nahe der Unterkunft probieren möchten! Sehr zu empfehlen!

I initially booked a week at the yoga shack to see the south east coast of Sri Lanka. Arugam Bay shines as the surfing mecca, I also planned to go on safari and chill out. I arrived at 4 am having taken a night bus from Baddegama. So upon meeting Michael later that day I had sleep deprivation. He is a very spiritual and humble person. Goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is enjoyable. I didn’t partake in the classes as I’m recovering from a compression fracture in my spine. Would be like someone scuba diving who couldn’t swim. Instead I did my own routine that was advised by a physio. A woman by the name of Stephanie practices Thai massage without oil. The session is ninety minutes and is very intense. I was exhausted afterwards. Daria takes the yoga class and is so radiant, positive and passionate about mindfulness and wellbeing. The yoga area is sublime and has a hammock you can chillax in. There’s courtesy cold water in a dispenser and the shack is kept clean at all times by a superb cleaner. I forgot her name but her smile is contagious and she really is the beacon of light there. Four days was enough for me. I saw a leopard on safari, watched some surfing, before heading back to the west coast and onto Colombo.

Yoga shack is located 40 meters away from the main road and is less than a five minute walk to the beach. It’s close to amenities, restaurants and bars. I did find it challenging to sleep there as I’m a light sleeper. You can hear the mosque, cockerel, koha bird, ( ubiquitous in Sri Lanka ) dogs and music from the nightlife in the area.
