Pause Bayeux

We stayed at the Pause Bayeux in November 2025, and the experience was exceptional, primarily because of the hosts and their hospitality. The property is located very near the train station, and after we crossed the street and were following our GPS, we were met by Bruno, who escorted us to the property, even carrying some suitcases for us. Through sign language, we learned about the place because he spoke French and we spoke English. He had delicious fresh-ground coffee for us, some local caramels, a carafe of cold water in the refrigerator, and everything we needed. The hosts were gracious with our schedule and allowed us into the property early, and allowed us to store our luggage there on the final day until our train left in the evening. Bayeux was the perfect place to explore Normandy, and everything we needed was within walking distance. The apartment is perfect for two people who do not require "luxury" accommodations. The layout is a bit quirky, but it checks all the necessary boxes. It was very clean, with a comfortable bed, small kitchen and sitting area, small balcony for warmer weather and even some games available. There was a lot of local information about where to visit and where to eat. We cannot say anything negative about the stay. It was fantastic. Many huge thanks to Bruno.

Lovely place to stay with everything you could need. Easy walk into town and handy to Railway Station. Lovely hosts. Thank you.

Helpful friendly host who met us in person. He showed us around the apartment and went through the information folder with us, making restaurant recommendations. The apartment was clean, cosy and well -equipped. We self-catered and had everything we needed. There were some nice little touches, like caramels and water in the fridge that were left for us. The apartment was small but had everything we needed. It was situated minutes from the station and a 10 minute walk from the historical centre. It was in a quiet location and we enjoyed sitting on the small balcony having our aperitif.
