Unserious, Absent Hosts

It was very convenient to where we were working but hard to like anything when one is as angry as I was about the terrible hosts and the condition we found ourselves in.

Problems: 1) I booked the property indicating that it was for work and that I was traveling with co-workers. Booking.com even auto prompted this when I wrote my review. I booked it because it advertised a sofa bed in the living room. The owner responded by text saying it was only booked for two persons and they assumed we were a couple and therefore did not provide the pull out sofa advertised or any sofa at all. They and the cleaning lady were too far away to come and do anything about it. We had to find another hotel room since my colleague and I could not sleep together in a small double bed. We cancelled our dinner plans to dedicate the evening to finding a place to stay. For a Saturday night in late July at the last minute there was nothing nearby for less than €1000/night on the west side of the lake. 2) The instructions said to look for a white door shortly after entering the building on the right side. There were no white doors. After finally trying my key in every door I discovered that it was a dark brown wood double door. Easy to describe if you cared enough to bother. See photo 3) The wifi network they said to connect to does not exist. Ditto for the password, obviously. We were without wifi and had to go up and down flights of steps to the street to get connectivity trying to reach the host and to make calls looking for a new hotel room. A friend said to look for the router and lo and behold the network and password were completely unrelated to what we were told to use. 4) I couldn't find the AC. There was only a small panel on the wall of what maybe looks like an old AC unit but if it was an AC unit we couldn't figure out how to turn it on and there was no remote. 5) I requested an Italian fiscal receipt and they said they would give me one so that I could at least declare my stay as a business expense. They have not given me one and ignore my requests.

Nous avons tout d’abord apprécié la propreté impeccable du logement, un grand bravo à la personne chargée du ménage. L’appartement est très agréable, avec des fenêtres traversantes qui assurent une bonne circulation de l’air. Il a été récemment rénové et dispose de tout l’équipement nécessaire pour passer un excellent séjour.

Petit bémol : l’absence de torchons de cuisine. En revanche, le véritable point négatif concerne le contact avec la société ITALIANWAY – Comoway, qui gère l’appartement. J’ai eu plusieurs interlocuteurs, chacun me donnant des informations différentes, notamment concernant notre arrivée. J’aurais souhaité obtenir toutes les précisions en amont afin d’être sereine le jour J, mais nous n’avons finalement reçu une réponse claire qu’une heure avant notre venue. Je recommande donc de prévoir un forfait téléphonique pour pouvoir les joindre facilement si nécessaire.
