Summerfields Lodge

The lodge was super clean and welcome pack was a lovely touch. Fresh milk, bread, butter, jams, fruit and cereals.

No all good. only improvement could be a USB socket.

Lovely cottage and setting. Really appreciated the privacy and fully fenced space for dog to roam. Lots of lovely fresh towels and blankets provided. Very grateful for the breakfast cereals, bread and milk that were provided as we had been held up en route and arrived later than expected. Some nice walks on bridleways near the cottage.

No WiFi connection and the cottage was out of range for mobile reception too. This was frustrating and when we did manage to get a message to the owner we were advised to turn the router on and off again. Tried this but the connection still did not work. It made planning day trips tricky as we had to drive further down the road before being able to plan & navigate our next destination.

Great place for area . And dog absolutely loved the fenced in area

The accommodation is in a quiet location, offering lots of privacy. Thoughtful breakfast supplies, including bread, juice, milk, and cereal. Has a cosy feel, providing blankets and towels. Comfortable seating outside, with a new bench table. The shower was good with adequate hot water.

It may have been a one off as we stayed one night, but it felt as if we tagged on to the end of someone else's stay - juice container was already open and half empty, best before on the bread was the day of arrival, a biscuit wrapper and jug left on the sideboard, rubbish in the bin. One window didn't shut. Some dead plants in the flowerbeds and containers, animal poop at the far end. No designated parking and the access gate difficult to open. It was a lovely lodge, it could have been a better experience for these reasons, making us wonder if the bedding was fresh. It does have good reviews, so perhaps this is not the norm, but unfortunately for us this was our experience.
