Summerfields Lodge

The property was clean and host had left essentials for our immediate stay. Good communication when emailing.

The property was listed as a one bedroom lodge, in fact it was one room with one double bed and sofa bed or z beds along with the kitchenette. It was booked for 3 adults and a toddler, therefore, everyone was crammed in the one room. This would have been very comfortable accommodation for two people, but inadequate for 3 adults and a toddler. Unfortunately, the crockery, cutlery, etc., were not very clean, which let the rest down as everywhere else was lovely and clean.

Very private location with large fenced grass area for the dog. Extremely and thoughtfully well equipped, with very comfortable bed and seating, as well as outdoor seating. The host very helpful and responded quickly to messages. She also provided treats and essentials that made us feel very welcome.

Beautiful place, loved everything about it.

The accommodation is in a quiet location, offering lots of privacy. Thoughtful breakfast supplies, including bread, juice, milk, and cereal. Has a cosy feel, providing blankets and towels. Comfortable seating outside, with a new bench table. The shower was good with adequate hot water.

It may have been a one off as we stayed one night, but it felt as if we tagged on to the end of someone else's stay - juice container was already open and half empty, best before on the bread was the day of arrival, a biscuit wrapper and jug left on the sideboard, rubbish in the bin. One window didn't shut. Some dead plants in the flowerbeds and containers, animal poop at the far end. No designated parking and the access gate difficult to open. It was a lovely lodge, it could have been a better experience for these reasons, making us wonder if the bedding was fresh. It does have good reviews, so perhaps this is not the norm, but unfortunately for us this was our experience.
