About this house rental
Groß Schönfeld is an idyllically situated district of the municipality of Blankensee in the centre of the Mecklenburg Lake District. The small village is located directly on Rödliner See, part of the Feldberger Seenlandschaft nature park and in the Tollensetal nature reserve. The Rödliner See, with its large bathing area and jetty, is an excellent place for fishing, although boats are not permitted on the lake, and the idyllic region with its many lakes is ideal for hiking and cycling tours in unspoilt nature. A bakery van stops directly in Groß Schönfeld every day. Shops and a railway station can be found in Blankensee, about 3 km away. A bakery and a restaurant can be found in Carpin, also approx. 3 km away. Carpin is also the gateway to the Müritz National Park and the residential town of Neustrelitz is around 17 km away. The town is the cultural centre of the Mecklenburg Lake District thanks to its various events, exhibitions and theatre and dance performances. Architecturally, the historic castle park with the Louise Temple, the castle cherry tree and the orangery are particular attractions. Neustrelitz has various cafés, restaurants and shopping facilities as well as a zoo with over 400 animals.
