This is a superb apartment, and Christophe is the perfect host -- friendly, helpful, flexible about arrival times, and best of all, he lives there on the property so we had no anxiety about being able to reach him if anything went wrong (nothing did!). He checked in with us our first full day there to make sure we were enjoying our stay and encouraged us to contact him if we had any questions, and he came down personally to tell us goodbye when we left. He also showed us around the apartment when we arrived and pointed out where everything was, which was very much appreciated. The apartment itself is gorgeous--spacious, with high ceilings, and beautifully furnished and appointed. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything one needs to cook a meal; we did not cook for ourselves because there are so many excellent restaurants within just a few hundred yards of the apartment, but we did have breakfast there each day and greatly appreciated the large refrigerator. We also very much appreciated that Christophe had provided coffee pods for our stay so we didn't have to buy our own. The bed is very comfortable, the bedroom is lovely, and the shower is excellent. Perhaps the very best thing about the apartment is its location. It is on a quiet pedestrian street leading directly to the south transept of the Cathedral so the view as soon as one sets foot outside the door is stunning. I've already mentioned the plentiful restaurants, but for those who want to cook, there are grocery stores very nearby as well. There is a launderette with excellent dryers just a couple of blocks away (the Laverie de la Cathedrale) and the excellent and helpful tourist information office is right by the Cathedral. The Hortillonages are an easy walk away, as is the St Leu district. There could not be a more central location, but it is also quiet and tranquil. We love Amiens (this was our second visit) and we hope to return. If we do, we will definitely stay here again!

We liked everything! One thing worth noting, though, is that while the apartment is on the ground floor, it would not be accessible for anyone in a wheelchair or even using a walker. There are 3 or 4 steps up to the entrance hall, and then there is a step up from the bedroom to the bathroom. This was fine for me, although I have somewhat limited mobility, because I can manage a few stairs, but it could be a problem for those with more severe limitations.
