Cavell Street Cottage in West Hobart

We traveled to Hobart to see a comedy show at Wrest Point Casino. Why would we see the show at home in Melbourne when we can experience it in Tasmania? We love Tasmania and Hobart. The cottage was located in the west of the CBD. The cottage has 2 good sized bedrooms downstairs with large beds. Each bedroom has its own freestanding heater. There was another attic bedroom which was up a very narrow and steep staircase..not suitable for anybody with a disability. The cottage has a large kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals. The Living room and Dining room were at the back of the house. The Reverse Cycle unit was nice and warm on those cold mornings. The cottage was close to an IGA convenience store which stocked everything. There was also a Pub that offers meals, and also a Pizza/Pasta restaurant. These were all a very short walk from the cottage. We dined at the Pizza/Pasta restaurant on 2 of our 3 nights..food, staff and ambience were all amazing. Our host was always communicating prior to arrival, and after arrival. They have presented a really cosy cottage for all to enjoy.

If you walked into town, or down to the Salamanca Market which are both within walking distance, you have to return to the cottage via really steep streets. There is a hand rail on the steepest street to assist. It is possible if you are reasonably fit, but wouldn’t recommend walking if you struggle. Not a problem if you are driving.

Great location as nice and close to everything. Hobart is gorgeous and we also explored other beautiful areas. We had breakfast twice at the Lansdowne Cafe which is a short walk. Great food.

The place was lovely- cosy, well put together and good location

The TV remote was broken when we arrived- which meant we could not watch TV during our stay. Attempts to resolve the issue during our stay were poor
