In addition to visiting the many castles and palaces in the region, a visit to one of the many museums in the area, a ride on the summer toboggan run in Altenberg or a trip to the Osterzgebirge wildlife park are also worthwhile. Another excursion tip is a ride on the Müglitz Valley Railway, which also stops in Bärenstein.
