    7 Jul 2026 We had one night stay at Vi TamCoc Hotel during our 30 hours visit from Sapa before heading to Hanoi. A basic room with no window. Our short encounter with the young lady and young man were very pleasant. Both of them spoke English, very friendly and helpful. Our sleeper bus arrived around 6+am and I forgot to ask about storage of baggage and early arrival. However, the young man responded to me quite promptly. We were able to do quick wash up at the level 1 toilet, left our bags for storage and went on our itinerary. The room is very basic but unexpectedly very clean and spacious for a budget hotel. Water pressure and temperature were decent and easy to control since it’s from water heater tank. It was quiet and we were able to get quality rest. We enjoyed our stay though I think I could have stayed in Trang An instead because we were travelling few times to and fro too many times. The grab fees quickly added up. However, I love the quietness of the neighbourhood and the accessibility to cafes and restaurants nearby. Our room also came with decent breakfast. I ordered bananas crepe + tea while my partner ordered bahn mi + 2 sunny side up eggs + water. I think it’s not easy to include a breakfast with affordable room rate. I would suggest them to include items (eg extra egg, avocado, coffee etc) that guests can top-up with price tag in the breakfast menu. PS: First impression of the accomodation from the signages on the wall, toilet door and room gave the vibe they are profit-focused. Since we are law-abiding, we didn’t have any issue. Personally feel that something can be left unsaid in writing unless necessary. Through our encounters with them, they were nice and I don’t think they are inflexible and profit-focused.

    Ninh Binh is an absolute joy to visit. When staying at Vi TamCoc hotel make sure you frequent the cafe/bar/restaurant downstairs. The team of youngsters are super enthusiastic & the food, drinks & of course prices, are excellent.
