The location was perfect, only a few minutes walk from the city centre and where everything is happening. The place was warm and in a quiet location (aside from the snow ploughs in the morning, which is to be expected). It's a bit small in places with low ceilings and a tight staircase, but it all adds to the charm.
Only thing of note was perhaps the bathroom and a few areas could have done with some scrubbing, but that's nitpicking. We really enjoyed our stay.

We are so happy that we chose this apartment in Tromsø. Despite its rather modest rating, it turned out to be a real hidden gem, especially considering the discounted price. The house itself is historic and authentic, which made staying there feel unique and memorable. The apartment is spread over two and a half levels, and although the staircase is quite steep and at first you might bump your head on the ceiling while going up, it is something you just need to be aware of when booking. For us it was not a problem at all. Inside everything was clean, cozy and created a feeling of home comfort.
The kitchen was fully equipped and spotless, making it possible to cook anything and save money on expensive Norwegian restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised to find plenty of basic products already available, such as grains, pasta, tea, coffee and other small essentials. There was even a proper coffee machine with a milk frother, and a generous supply of coffee beans to use it with. Having great coffee every morning felt like a dream. The bathroom was clean and comfortable to use, and there was also a brand new washer-dryer, which proved incredibly useful in this climate. After check-out the host kindly allowed us to leave our luggage in the house for a few more hours until our flight, which was very thoughtful. The location was excellent as well, with everything within walking distance or easily reachable by bus, giving us full freedom to move around the city. On top of that, there were some great playgrounds nearby, which was a big plus for us. Overall, this apartment far exceeded our expectations and we would gladly stay here again.

Low ceilings and narrow staircase means it is a little difficult to move around. Only basic kitchen facilities.
