Casa del Marchese del Grillo

My flight out of Rome was cancelled due to a national strike and I needed a place to stay for one night. The Marchese del Grillo was available and I had stayed previously and really enjoyed it. This beautifully renovated 2-bedroom apartment (I didn't use the second room) has some special features, like the large balcony and the open shower. It's in a typical Casa Popolare in Garbatella, so you’ll hear the sounds of real people going about their lives during the day and total silence at night. There are about 4 stairs at the front door and then an elevator inside to get to the second floor. Entry is all done using the Vikey system and your phone. The bed was super-comfortable and the people from the agency were really helpful. They leave basics like coffee, olive oil and salt for guests; a PAM supermarket and an MA supermarket are nearby. The "centre" of Garbatella (Via Caffaro) is a 10-minute walk and it's 15 minutes on foot to Eataly, where you can also access Ostiense train station (trains to Fiumicino Airport and other destinations).

I'm familiar with Garbatella and I love this location but if you're not, be aware that it's a 15-minute walk to the Garbatella metro station on Line B.

L'appartamento era molto bello. Tutto nuovo e con tutte le comodità (lavatrice, asciugatrice, lavastoviglie, frigorifero enorme, climatizzatori...insomma super accessoriato.

Tutto molto bello ma si sono 'persi' con la doccia. Ogni volta che l'abbiamo utilizzata il bagno si 'allagava' perché c'era, anziché un box, la tenda e per di più corta.

Very comfortable and clean apartment in the middle of Garbatella. Wonderful host!

We were missing few small things like trash bin in the bathroom or a big mirror, but those are just small details - the stay was perfect!

Loved the location and convenience of the apartment. Host was exceptional and communication excellent. Kitchen equipment and space great and air conditioning fab.

A few more mirrors would be ideal and a blind or curtains in the main bedroom would be a good idea.
