A Casa di Lu, al Colosseo - Guest House

Right next to the Colosseum, this place is near major landmarks. The apartment windows overlook a current Roman archeological site being excavated! The apartment has comfortable beds, washing machine and a small kitchen. It is around the corner from a 24h Carrefour grocery and many wonderful & fresh restaurants. We are a family of 5 and we were comfortable. Responsive host and A/C was amazing since we visited during a heatwave.

Stairs to the apartment. These are typical in older and centrally located EU buildings. If you’re bringing a lot of big heavy luggage or have mobility issues, the stairs may be hard for you. I’m traveling with teens so they can tolerate 2 flights of stairs, carrying stuff, plus a day of marching around to see the sites.

Absolutely loved the location (steps away from restaurants , cafes, supermarket and the Colosseum of course). The home was super clean with very comfortable beds. Excellent communication from Lucia.

The stairs to get luggage up and down but can’t be helped due to the age of the building. Lucia’s son Michele was there to help us which was awesome!

This is a beautifully-curated apartment that is thoughtfully decorated, clean, and in an excellent location near the Colosseum. Giulia was very communicative, flexible, and kind. The beds are comfortable and the apartment is equipped with everything you need! There are 2 flights of stairs to access the apartment, which was no issue for our group.

As with any accommodation close to the Colosseum, you will be around a lot of tourist crowds immediately outside the apartment building. That is to be expected and the crowds are entirely forgotten when you enter the building and the peaceful apartment!

The location was perfect because you are right by the Colosseum. We had no problem getting on the subway or bus and it was so nice to come back after a long day and have a three minute walk back to air conditioning (there was a heat wave while we were visiting). We used the balconies to take pictures of The Colosseum, and you are also right across from the Domus Aurea as well as a site they are preserving that was the gym of the gladiators. The host was absolutely wonderful as always she was willing to help with any questions and or needs before during an after our vacation.

There is nothing bad to say about this property. Staying there was one of the highlights of our trip!
