The Longwood Barn

Such a peaceful area to stay in, has all the things you need and couldn’t be happy enough for what we paid

Very quaint, loved the decor, very cozy. Linen lovely

Lack of utensils (forks, spoons, knives), electrical shorting out when using the oven and hobs.

The barn was unique and furnished with plenty of reading material. Although wet and cold outside, the barn warmed up well with the log burner, with plenty of dry firewood available and the heat pump going.

We cooked our meals on site and found the lack of cutlery disappointing. e.g. 3 forks for 4 adults booked. BBQ area needs better lighting. Gas bottle nearly empty.

The fire was great to warm up the lounge area. Beds were comfortable, the 2nd room was not really normal length, not the best for taller people.

We did not get an arrival email until 4.29pm, after we arrived so I had to ask where the key might be by text. It felt like the cleaner had not been in a while, dead bugs on the kitchen bench, long dark hairs in the shower, mirror in small bedroom not cleaned. Yes a country property but needed a really good clean and removal of cobwebs and dust. Having to go through the main bedroom to get to the 2nd room was a bit of encroachment of privacy and the toilet flush was super loud so you would wake the guest in other room should you need to flush. Some doors leading to outside were really difficult to open. Was disappointed there was no milk supplied as you would have at a hotel or Airbnb, no coffee either.
