Nakanoyu is in a great location. You can hike Mt. Yake right from the hotel. Plus, it’s just a short shuttle trip to Kamikochi. The views from the lounge and dining room are absolutely stunning. Dinner was quite an experience- so many unique small plates. It was fun to try so many different Japanese dishes. The room was cozy and traditional. The onsen was great especially having both indoor and outdoor options. Plus, the staff was friendly and helpful.
I never really got used to the futon bed. And although there was a toilet and sink in the room, you have to bathe at the onsen downstairs. I didn’t understand that from the listing.
